Our session has been dominated by a passionate commitment to advancement in public welfare and fostering a brighter future for all Floridians. Our endeavors ranged from enriching educational opportunities, insurance reforms, and improving economic activity to judicious use of tax revenue—all of which would directly or indirectly benefit the dynamic cities of our district, including Tarpon Springs, Oldsmar, East Lake, Dunedin, and Palm Harbor. On the affordability front, we took decisive action to reduce costly delays in housing builds that make homes and renovations more expensive by streamlining inconsistent permitting and inspections processes.
Serving North Pinellas County in the State House of Representatives is the honor of a lifetime. During my time in the Florida House, I’ve been committed to bringing a strong voice for common sense to our state’s Capitol. This year, there has been a continued focus on making Florida more affordable, investing education, and providing great access to quality, lower-cost healthcare. On the affordability front, we took decisive action to reduce costly delays in housing builds that make homes and renovations more expensive by streamlining inconsistent permitting and inspections processes. My hope is that this will be a great benefit to so many in our community affected by the recent hurricanes. In education, we have a great deal of to be proud of, but much work to be done. We lead the nation in providing students with flexible schooling options and career pathways to support successes. This year, we took steps to modernize virtual education and expanded pathway opportunities to ensure students can maximize their potential. Knowing that strong communities are built with healthy communities, we worked on public policy that would help Florida families have access to the tools and care that are needed to prevent and treat disease – including taking the fight to Parkinson’s Disease through early intervention treatments, expanding healthcare options by reestablishing a licensure framework for naturopathy, and funding newborn, genetic screenings that can help identify issues at birth to
