Atkins is a Miami and Tampa trial attorney whose practice has included legal aid for farmworkers and DACA recipients. He was the Democratic nominee for Florida's 26th Congressional District in 2024 and won this year's Democratic primary with about 60% of the vote. His campaign is built on three planks: protecting water and farmland from data centers, food and farm affordability, and modernizing guest-worker programs.
