She is a life-long supporter of women’s right to an abortion, birth control, and all reproductive health care. She is one of the lead sponsors of the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would ensure access to abortion in every state. She also supports strong federal investment in in all areas of women’s health, including contraception and maternal care. As Chair Emerita of the Democratic Women’s Caucus, she has helped promote a progressive agenda that fights for equal pay, eliminating sexual harassment, and making sure women and girls have equal access to the tools needed to succeed, so that our communities across the country are more prosperous. Lois also believes we need more women’s voices in positions of power, which is why she works tirelessly to help get women elected to office, as a co-chair of both Elect Democratic Women, she works to support women congressional candidates across the country. In Congress, Lois is a member of the House Appropriations Committee, where she serves on the Subcommittees for Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and State, Foreign Operations.

Lois Frankel is an experienced public servant with a strong record of bringing jobs and opportunity to South Florida. After serving 14 years in the Florida state legislature, including as the first woman Democratic Minority Leader, Lois became Mayor of West Palm Beach in 2003, where she served for eight years. She is the first woman to represent Florida’s 22nd congressional district and has been representing Palm Beach County since being elected in 2013. In Congress, Lois is a member of the House Appropriations Committee, where she serves on the Subcommittees for Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and State, Foreign Operations. She founded and chaired the Democratic Women's Caucus, and now serves at Chair Emerita, bringing women’s issues to the forefront of all policy decisions. Read More
