Education
As a teenager, Robert fell in love with the idea of being a teacher, a passion he still carries.
First name Last name Email * Submit HUMBLE BEGINNINGS Robert People was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1979. He was the second-born of four children and grew up with a single mother in poverty. The family lived in the commonly found row homes of Baltimore’s inner city. They strived to make the best our of their situation and Robert dreamt of better days when his mother no longer had to ride the bus to and from work and they didn’t need to borrow money to make ends meet. A BORN HELPER Robert’s mother fought for more opportunities, attending school to become a nursing assistant while working full-time. Robert admired her perseverance and connected with her drive to help people. He first dreamed of becoming a doctor. While his friends feared the doctor and told exaggerated horror stories of their check-ups, he enjoyed the visits. He would endure the shots just for a chance to observe close up how they helped people. He loved the idea of saving people’s lives and appreciated the care and compassion that doctors showed their patients. As a teenager, Robert fell in love with the idea of being a teacher, a passion he still carries. He loved school and wanted to give others the same amazing feeling hereceived from learning. Life took Robert in a different direction but the foundation remained the same – Robert was meant for a life of service. Below are some of his IDEAS: Access to Clean Energy Services Since Donald Trump’s term started in 2025, his administration has made decisions for the benefit of the fossil fuel industry and to the detriment of regular people. Please read below for Robert's policies on lowering utility costs, expanding clean energy investments, restoring Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards, and restoring Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) programs.
Robert will provide the leadership that Florida's Congressional District 15 has been sorely missing. He will listen to and work for his constituents, not the president, nor the administration. Not even other Democrats. He will work for the PEOPLE. As your Congressman, Robert will bring the attention back to the PEOPLE. Too many Representatives forget who they serve and end up removed from us. His VISION is to PRIORITIZE what you, the PEOPLE, tell him you need from your member of Congress. Below are some of his IDEAS: Access to Clean Energy Services Since Donald Trump’s term started in 2025, his administration has made decisions for the benefit of the fossil fuel industry and to the detriment of regular people. Electricity rates are up 8% since Trump took office, and here in District 15, residents have been significantly impacted by increased electricity costs. 47% of Floridians already struggle to meet basic costs of living. With the addition of increased expenses due to natural disaster impacts and insurance costs, Florida’s working and middle-class families are being priced out of living here. Please read below for Robert's policies on lowering utility costs, expanding clean energy investments, restoring Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards, and restoring Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) programs.

Medicare For All Health care is a human right. We have proven time and time again that we have the capacity to support Medicare For All, and there has been enough "kicking this can down the road." Robert will support universal healthcare to ensure that our citizens receive the healthcare they need without being financially drained just to pay for medication(s), forcing them to decide between paying a bill or receiving, in many cases, life-saving medicines.
CLEAN ENERGY Ban Congressional Stock Trading Since members of Congress often make policy decisions that can have a direct impact on the economy and specific industries, Robert is looking to support or put forth legislation to ban congressional stock trading. This will also prevent insider trading, which will stop lawmakers from having non-public, market-moving information before the general public. Members of Congress are representatives of the American people. They should not be engaging in activities that give them an unfair financial advantage over the people they represent, especially when their constituents are often suffering and living in poverty. This is unacceptable. Medicare For All Health care is a human right. Period. Our citizens should not have to decide to essentially die due to the inflated costs of medications that they can no longer afford, and whoever is benefiting from these astronomical costs needs to be held accountable as well. Enough of pretending we do not know that is happening. We do, and enough is enough. NO AIPAC Contributions and NO Fur

Reform Immigration System The last significant and comprehensive immigration reform in the U.S. was the Immigration Reform Act and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986, that was signed by President Reagan. There needs to be a much better and clearer path to citizenship that does not involve immigrants who are doing the right thing having to wait years for their citizenship.
ISRAEL/PALESTINE No CHILD Goes HUNGRY Our children need to be fed and nourished so that they can focus on learning and becoming their absolute best. Robert will fight for FREE school breakfasts and lunches for ALL our children. Robert would like to propose child tax credits to cover school meals. Robert would also like to restore USDA funding for food banks and to engage with food assistance organizations to identify bureaucratic barriers and regulation changes that could expand opportunities and alleviate costs. We must remember that this will also help hard-working families, especially single mothers, as this option allows them no longer to have the additional task of preparing breakfasts and lunches for their children on school days. They have more than enough to deal with...this will at least give them one less task to take on. Women's Health is NOT Up for Debate Women are still having to deal with a host of issues during doctor's visits. They are NOT being heard by medical providers. Women are often misdiagnosed, receive improper treatments, or are frequently told that they "need to lose weight" in an effort to dismiss the problem. There is still a lack of women in clinical trials, as men are still strongly viewed as the default, insufficient research into women's health issues, and so much more. Robert will support federal grant funding for these initiatives. Reproductive health and decisions are always up to a woman and her doctor. Reform Immigration System T

This will be determined at the very least by the cost of living, the current median salaries, and a few other factors. It will be enough for teachers not to have to get second jobs over the summer. When annual budgets are established, teacher salaries need to be at the TOP of the list.
One way Robert will look to do this is to establish a minimum salary in every state. This will be determined at the very least by the cost of living, the current median salaries, and a few other factors. It will be enough for teachers not to have to get second jobs over the summer. HOW WILL THIS BE PAID FOR? When annual budgets are established, teacher salaries need to be at the TOP of the list. Except for emergency issues, all the improvements and enhancements in the world make NO difference if you don't have teachers. bottom of page

Florida has the second-largest population of seniors in the state, at 4.6 million, next to California (6 million). Florida also has the third-largest percentage of seniors in the state (21.75%), next to Maine (22.94%) and Vermont (22.15%). We must make sure we keep the Social Security conversation on the table, and Robert pledges to keep the discussion going. Our citizens should not have to worry about losing their hard-earned money.
