What to know
Crist was Florida's Republican governor from 2007 to 2011, later became a Democrat, and represented St. Petersburg in Congress from 2017 to 2022; the mayor's race is nonpartisan, so no label appears on the ballot. He has lived in St. Petersburg since age 3. He finished first in the August primary with about 35% to Ken Welch's 21%, sending them to this runoff. His campaign lists affordability as the top issue, along with hurricane response, economic development, education and better communication from City Hall.
