Housing
The continued rise in insurance costs has made homeownership feel even more untenable for countless Floridians. In the Senate, she’s done nothing to address affordable housing — instead, she voted against FEMA funding intended to help Floridians rebuild their homes after storms. Alex will do things differently.
In Florida, we have the most expensive homeowners insurance in the country. Families are paying more and getting less from their insurance policies — if they can even get coverage at all. The continued rise in insurance costs has made homeownership feel even more untenable for countless Floridians. As Attorney General, Ashley Moody could have taken action to hold big insurance companies accountable for spiking insurance rates. But instead, she didn’t lift a finger because she was taking campaign checks from those same insurance companies. In the Senate, she’s done nothing to address affordable housing — instead, she voted against FEMA funding intended to help Floridians rebuild their homes after storms. At every opportunity Ashley Moody has made decisions that have delivered for special interests, billionaires, and large corporations, while squeezing the finances of Floridians. Alex will do things differently. He will take on the rising cost of insurance by increasing market competition, holding insurers accountable, and addressing the underlying risks driving up premiums. He supports smart investments in resilience and disaster mitigation to protect communities and keep costs down over the long term. Floridians deserve peace of mind, not bills that keep them up at night.

Health care is a right, not a privilege. Alex will defend and strengthen the Affordable Care Act, lower drug prices, and expand access to quality, affordable care across all of Florida — including increasing funding for addiction services. Alex will strengthen Medicare by supporting legislation that adds dental and eye coverage to this life-saving program and expanding the state’s medicaid and medicare access programs.
Health care is a right, not a privilege. No one should go broke to stay healthy. Alex will take on Big Pharma. From fueling the opioid crisis to jacking up the cost of life-saving drugs, Big Pharma is crushing our state. Alex will investigate the role of Big Pharma in the opioid crisis and limit the ability of pharmaceutical companies to overcharge for the cost of medicine. Floridians are sick of watching our leaders let this happen — Alex has never backed down from a tough fight. Taking on Big Pharma and medical costs is a battle worth winning. Ashley Moody has done the opposite. Moody has taken almost $100,000 from Big Pharma PACs and traded health care stocks, all while siding with the pharmaceutical companies. Moody voted for the largest cut to Medicaid in American history and opposes the lifesaving tax credits that help millions of Floridians afford their insurance. Unlike Ashley Moody, Alex will always be on the side of patients, not Big Pharma profit margins.

Cost of living is sky-high, health care premiums are through the roof, and Florida homeowners pay some of the highest property insurance rates in the country. She screwed Florida homeowners by caving to the big insurance companies, supported this administration that gutted disaster help for communities trying to rebuild, and had over a million dollars in her corporate stock traded last year while she had access to insider information only Congress gets.
I’m not a politician. I served 21 years in the Army and I’ve served presidents of both parties. As someone who has spent time in government, I’ve seen just how corrupt politics can be. I stepped up when the country needed a soldier and I’m stepping up now to represent Floridians and fight the corruption and special interests that are driving up costs. After a lifetime of moving between deployments and postings, my wife Rachel and I chose Florida as the place to settle down and raise our family. Florida has given us the life we always dreamed of. For many Floridians, a good quality of life is increasingly out of reach. Cost of living is sky-high, health care premiums are through the roof, and Florida homeowners pay some of the highest property insurance rates in the country. Politicians from both sides are completely out of touch with the average Floridian. They have prioritized their own interests over their constituents and have passed the costs onto the average person. Our system is rigged and Ashley Moody was hand-picked by the political elites who rigged it. She screwed Florida homeowners by caving to the big insurance companies, supported this administration that gutted disaster help for communities trying to rebuild, and had over a million dollars in her corporate stock traded last year while she had access to insider information only Congress gets. After a life of service I am running for the United States Senate to be a common-sense voice for everyday Floridians who w

Moody’s complicity has allowed the cost of living to inflate to new heights throughout Florida, all while she enriches herself. That’s why Alex will fight to lower everyday costs — from groceries to energy bills — while building an economy that makes sure wages keep up with the cost of living. Alex believes in investing in public education and trades, small business, and enhancing Florida’s current economic drivers as well as building a 21st Century economy for Florida so that this and future ge
The Florida dream isn’t slipping away, it’s being priced out of reach. Costs are totally out of control. Groceries, gas, utility bills, insurance premiums — everything is going up except our paychecks. Too many Floridians are frustrated and stretched to the breaking point, lying awake at night worried about bouncing their next rent check, missing a car payment, or their credit card debt snowballing out of control. Let’s be honest about how we got here: career politicians like Ashley Moody have looked the other way while corporations increase prices and pad their profits. Moody’s complicity has allowed the cost of living to inflate to new heights throughout Florida, all while she enriches herself. That’s not leadership — it’s selling out. Alex believes in a different vision for Florida: if you work hard, you should be able to afford a good life, keep ahead of inflation, and lay the foundation for a prosperous future for you and your family. That’s why Alex will fight to lower everyday costs — from groceries to energy bills — while building an economy that makes sure wages keep up with the cost of living. Alex supports tax relief for middle-class families, making the tax system fair for everyone, closing loopholes for tax cheats, and transparency measures that help crack down on corporate price gouging. Alex believes in investing in public education and trades, small business, and enhancing Florida’s current economic drivers as well as building a 21st Century economy for Florid

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Alex Vindman is a 21-year U.S. Army combat veteran who served his country in the military and as a national security expert working for presidents of both parties. He and his family left the Soviet Union as refugees when he was three years old in search of freedom and opportunity in America. After a military career that moved him all over the world, Alex and his wife, Rachel, chose Florida as the place to settle with their family. Alex was wounded in Iraq and awarded a Purple Heart. As a Lieutenant Colonel, Alex led hundreds of people in high-pressure situations where lives depended on people devoted to the mission and not themselves. His military service took him from the battlefield to the Pentagon and the White House, where he served as a Director on the National Security Council staff. Alex has always stood up for what’s right. During his time on the National Security Council, Alex witnessed a corrupt and illegal abuse of power by a president intent on undermining an election. As was his duty under the Constitution, he reported the wrongdoing. His decision to blow the whistle led to the 2019 impeachment of President Trump, whose retribution ultimately cost him his 21-year military career. After his Army career Alex dedicated himself to public service outside of uniform, helping veterans run for office so they can serve as a check on corruption and abuse of power.
