Andrea Teves Smith has been a judge on the Second District Court of Appeal since February 2019. Gov. Rick Scott appointed her on January 7, 2019, among his final appointments before leaving office. Before that she was a Polk County circuit judge and spent nearly 20 years as a commercial litigation and appeals lawyer at a Lakeland firm. Voters retained her in 2020 with about 75 percent voting yes. This is a yes-or-no vote on whether she keeps the seat for another six years.
