Daniel H. Sleet has served on the Second District Court of Appeal since December 2012, when Gov. Rick Scott elevated him from the Hillsborough County circuit bench, where Gov. Jeb Bush had appointed him. He was the appeals court's chief judge from 2023 to 2025. Earlier in his career he was a felony prosecutor in the Hillsborough State Attorney's Office and a personal injury defense lawyer. This is a yes-or-no vote on whether he keeps the seat for another six years.
